“Damien Puckler, the actor known amongst other for his recurring role of Martin Meisner on the international hit TV-show GRIMM, is the new ambassador of the Bernd-Stephan-Tierschutz-Stiftung, the German based animal protection foundation that supports projects nationally and internationally. 

 

Bernd Stephan can reflect back on 40 years of charity work for animals and is known as a major promoter of animal protection throughout Europe.

One of his main successes to date, he helped convince the German government to ban the import on all baby seal furs in February 1983. A full European ban came shortly after.

Thanks to his donations, so far thousands of stray cats and dogs in Bulgaria have been neutered or spayed and found a home in one of the animal shelters financed by him.

Same in the South of France, where the Bernd-Stephan-Tierschutz-Stiftung is one of the main sponsors for animal shelters and where many cats and dogs ultimately found a new family home through adoption.

 

Both, Bernd Stephan and Damien Puckler, have a deeply rooted  connection with animals.

 

Last year, Damien Puckler's dog Roxy was all of a sudden in need of an expensive but necessary emergency surgery to regain her ability to walk and not become completely paralyzed. Damien's international popularity enabled him to activate an online fundraiser which was successfully funded within only a few days...all due to the overwhelming kindness and support of Damien's fans.

 

Humbled and overly grateful that Roxy received the help she so desperately needed, Damien decided to find a way to become more active as an animal rights and protection ambassador.
